Halton
Health Partnership – 19th May 2004
The group were reminded that
updated service agreements for Neighbourhood Renewal Fund initiatives should
have been completed – these would be chased up as soon as possible.
The Partnership received a
presentation from John Redmond, Head of Community Safety for the Fire Service.
John discussed the preventative approach being taken, and explained the need
for accurate profiling of the most vulnerable groups in Halton – this will
enable targeted safety information to be delivered to those who need it the
most.
Dr Daniel Seddon explained
that it may be possible to search records by burns and smoke inhalation, and
there may be potential for a pilot project in Castlefields targeting oxygen
users. A possible link to the community and voluntary sector was also
discussed.
It was agreed that the
Partnership should be familiar with all the recommendations of the Health
Study. Three groups will be set up, through which the ‘Implementing
recommendations’ funding will be directed.
Links will be made with
other Specialist Strategic Partnerships and related groups to examine their
impact and influence on the study’s recommendations.
The scale and direction of
future match funding by health-orientated organisations is being clarified at
present.
The group approved the
proposed work programme for the Partnership.
Dr Daniel Seddon will
produce ‘News from the Director of Public Health’ updates twice per year to
increase information sharing and raise relevant issues.
The Partnership agreed to
act as the arbitration body, under the terms of the Partnership Agreement, for
the Children’s Disability Partnership Board.
