Beacon Councils
The new round of the Beacon Councils programme was launched recently and several of the themes may be of interest to local groups. You may wish to contact your local authority to find out if they are going to be involved and find out if there are any opportunities for joint working. The IDeA is running a number of events about the new themes and details can be found on the IDeA web site (you will need to register, but it only takes a few minutes).

Beacon learning exchanges
Learning exchange dates have been set for the round five beacon themes, and will feature keynote speakers such as the Rt Hon Margaret Hodge MBE MP, Minister for Children, Young People and Families, Chris Pond MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, and Hazel Blears MP, Minister for Crime Reduction, Policing and Community Safety.

Neighbourhood Renewal Fund

The Government has also recently published information about this year's NRF allocations, which may be of interest to those of you in neighbourhood renewal areas. They are fairly large documents, so be aware that it will take a long time to download if you have a dial up link.
