Launch Event Meeting Notes

Tuesday 26^th April 05

Attendance- Wendy Sheppard, Barbara Egan, Pauline Ruth, Gaynor Bevan

-Date for launch is Tuesday 13^th September @ Halton Stadium. -It is currently provisionally booked from 9am-9pm till a time slot is agreed.

-After 5^th May invites will be sent out to MP’s and councillors

-Possible speakers

-Diana Terrace Director of Children Services

-David Parr

-Leader of HBC

-Chris Atkins

-It is also important to make sure that representation is present form the national Day Nursery Association. Are they on the database?

-Council Officers on the database also?

-The launch is a celebration of the merger and a way to help move it forward

-Bring the work of the forums together

-Transport could be an issue for some childminders, car sharing?

-Stall space for organisation to share information and network

-In the programme have some history of the 3 forums and the merger

-Involve children and young people to celebrate the forums

-This could be through presentation, performance etc.

-Use of Sure Start video

-Ask Liz form family groups about staff doing presentation about developing through the forum.

-Invitation to be in the form of a card rather than letter as more personal.

- background info Geraldine

- presentation by parents, Bands, dance piece by YP etc

- Chris Atkins- background and purpose, national picture

- Buffet and stall- networking

- Video to bring them back to seats

- Closure and way forward Diana Terrace

Response and feedback during refreshments steered by member of the team around a table, less formal prompt sheets & evaluations
