Andy welcomed everybody to the meeting and read out Halton Together’s mission statement.
This is attached to these minutes.
Nancy introduced herself to the members and told them a little about the work she had been doing.
First of all she has been looking through all the written information and talking to the staff and individuals. She sent out a questionnaire to find out what people understood about the Network and whether they were listened to. She asked whether they knew what the Network was all about and she also phoned round some of the people who were on the Network but not panel members, so see if they knew what it was all about.
She attended Panel meetings and these seemed to be very positive. She also attended meetings at Government Office for the North West and had regular meetings with the Network co-ordinators. She said that the LSP’s really need to put proper structures in place so that people know what’s going on. The results of this evaluation will be presented at the Away Day.
Andy went through the minutes of the last meeting:
• Problems have occurred with
the website.
• The Charity Fair in London was well attended with six groups going and
giving their information back. This will be sent out soon.
There were no matters arising.
Debbie Dalby gave a brief review on the Action Plan. This is attached to the minutes.
We have had 31 responses for fulfilling places on the Halton Together panel. We have 49 places available, so we have a few places to fill. We will extend the closing date for people who didn’t know about it. The Chair quickly ran through the names of all those who were nominated.
Need local people, particularly from Halton Together, to get involved in the process. Sefton Community Foundation hold the pot of money, but it is local people who decide where this money is going. We have been very successful in Halton, so far we have reached above average. Sefton Community Foundation are going to give us the nomination process and we will pass these through to everybody.
The Away Day will be held on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November 2003 at Burton Manor.
Andy Guile asked if anybody had anything they wanted to bring to the attention of the Network.
Debbie Dalby wanted to highlight the training which was left on everybody’s chairs and asked if anybody was interested to let us know.
Andy thanked Lyn Williams for all her help over the last few months as she now leaves Halton Together to go back to her old job.
The next Network meeting is scheduled to be held the week commencing Monday 8th March 2004. These will be finalised nearer this time.
Debbie Dalby said that expenses can be paid to get people to these meetings.
Andy Guile said that if anybody had
any strong views about when and where these meetings should be held could they
please let us know.
