Timing of meetings
Thursday is proving to be difficult for some members
of the forum. It was decided that the
meeting be moved to the last Wednesday in the month at
Matters arising
Brookvale: Consultants
are addressing the access issues. The
area panel considered funding for 2 changing beds and a hoist at their meeting
yesterday – decision unknown.
Grant: The application has been received and a
decision will be made at the end of August.
ST reported 6 or 7 students were interested in the coordinators post, 2
of whom live locally.
Halton Show: There is to be a dance display at the
show. Chesnut
Lodge pupils may be involved. The show
will give us an opportunity to put up a display.
Stationery: We chose one of MF’s
designs.

LH reported that the aerobics session at MENCAP was
very successful. She is looking for other,
similar activities. The issue of
swimming in the school holidays was discussed.
Special needs lose their allotted times as the pools are open to
children for free swimming and this makes it too crowded. GR will write to Phil Harris on behalf of the
forum. LH will ask other interested
groups to write. We could possibly use Brookvale if it is ready.
LH asked about fundraising for MENCAP.
It was suggested that they apply for an ‘Awards for All’ grant.
John Dixon - mpower –
provides respite and recreational opportunities - looking for LEA approval.
PF is now a level 1 qualified coach for boccia.
