The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the setting up of the new Sports Club in Runcorn

• PP reported that the funding bid had been successful and there was £16K available each year for three years.
• Matched funding - £4k per year – will come in the form of volunteer time
• A September start is planned and the club will run 50 weeks a year
• IJ to investigate venues and cost – Brookvale would be the preferred option, but will look at The Grange High School too
• PP to find out about concessionary rates for disabled groups using HBC facilities
• Paperwork from the Chesnut Lodge club will be used
• Taster sessions will be planned initially
• Need to consider sources of volunteers
• PP to contact Pete Wyman about the possibility of support for Ian from University students
• We considered the purchase of a container to be sited at Chesnut Lodge, use of a digital camera to record activities so that pictures could be available for display and publicity and the purchase of display boards
• IJ reported that Family Link regularly access the Chesnut Lodge club. He has contacted the local ASD society regarding interest in the club
• Club rules will be drawn up with the members
