Start date for sports club altered to 28 January, otherwise accepted as a true and proper record

 

Matters arising

The Sports Club

 

  • GJ has met IJ and discussed payments
  • Samba dance – invoice to HDS and mark HATS
  • Funding may be available from ‘Heart of North Cheshire’, up to £500
  • Copy of HBC child protection policy to be forwarded to all forum members
  • Widnes Recreation Club visited IJ and SL at the Phab club and expressed an interested in being involved in the sports club
  • Tony Locke (local disabled athlete) has shown an interest in helping with the club
  • IJ has spoken to Barnados and local clubs about integrating club members into mainstream activities.  Barnados will provide the support
  • The first part of the grant will be in the bank in the next few days
  • Need to investigate storage in liaiason with Chesnut Lodge
  • ST to ask Greenbank again for a sample job description
  • IJ reported on the work he had been doing – advertising, talking to schools, visiting local clubs, undertaking risk assessments.

 

Other issues

 

  • Awards for All – up to £5000 available for clubs
  • Norton rec closed as from today
  • Brookvale changing rooms are still not ready – no more funds available.  Issues over access, lockers and benches.  Letter to be sent to chair of policy and performance board (social inclusion)
  • Constitution – GR has contacted the Charity Commissioners and will try and get an appointment to speed up a response. LW suggested he contact Alison Gleave (Children with Disabilities) who has been helping small clubs write constitutions
  • HVA are holding a ‘funding day’ on 3 December
  • Forum members thanked Sharon for her involvement in the forum and her hard work on its behalf and wished her success in her new job
