OPERATION EDENAN OVERVIEW

BACKGROUND
Launched in April 2004, Operation EDEN is a multi faith, community transformation project supporting diverse partnership solutions delivered by faith volunteers and local individuals and groups. More than 50 partnership projects, all involving a faith partner, have received support and advice from EDEN. Projects range from an outdoor primary school classroom, a supported recycling service for people unable to access recycling facilities, a faith symbolic garden around a synagogue and a community food growing project on disused land.

Got ideas on how to transform your community? Need support to make things happen? Our volunteers put their faiths' teachings about the environment into action by creating partnerships with other local people or groups to bring about local social, environmental and economic transformation.EDEN offers practical support, advice, excellent training & awareness raising sessions and small scale funding to volunteers and their partners within the boundaries of the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool.

To date we have supported 40 projects ranging from community food growing, creative murals using recycled glass and canal clearing. We supported 24 environmental projects as part of Merseyfest from 14th - 21st August 2005.
