Brought up in a public house, I was often involved in organising fundraising events for local charities. I also worked as a Guide Leader for St John's, Widnes for a few years before taking a none executive role on HILT. HILT was founded by a group of Parents including my Mother, they all had children with learning disabilities. I am now chair of HILT and have continued my fundraising work. Also I am on the Executive of the Federation of Supported Living Groups.
