But you don't have to work a room well to be good at networking. It's all about helping people, and that's something anyone can learn.

This Media Trust workshop will look at different styles of networking and help you find the one that's right for you, your organisation, and the contacts you're targeting.

It will also cover how you can develop contacts from acquaintances into advocates for your work, and how to adapt your networking as this relationship develops.

And yes, it will also give you some good lines to use when going up to complete strangers at an important function. But really, there's more to it than leaving with a pocket bulging with business cards...
